About Shrestha Yojana 2022

Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment has launched ”Shreshtha scheme” for residential education for scheduled caste students in high school in targeted areas. Through this scheme, scholarship will be provided to the beneficiaries which will cover all the educational expenses of the meritorious students from class 9th to 11th. Only Scheduled Caste students will be able to take advantage of this scheme. The government is going to start this scheme from the academic year 2022-23. To take advantage of this scheme, students have to take an entrance test which is known as NETS or National Entrance Test for Shrestha. It is basically a national level exam which is conducted by National Testing Agency in computer based mode.

Residential Schools under Shrestha Scheme

All the students who qualify the NET exam will be shortlisted for admission in CBSE affiliated schools. Through this scheme, the scholarship will be distributed directly to the schools which are giving admission to the shortlisted students. This  scholarship  will cover school fees and hostel fees. The scheme is applicable only for those residential schools which are affiliated to CBSE up to class 12th which are running for five years or more with 75% or more pass percentage in class 10th and 12th in the last three years. Interested residential schools are required to submit their online consent by 25 March 2022.

The main objective of  Shrestha Yojana is  to ensure that all the students belonging to the Scheduled Caste category can get education without worrying about financial expenses. Through this scheme the government is going to pay school and hostel fees. With the implementation of this scheme, the literacy rate of the country will improve. Apart from this, students will not need to depend on anyone for their education expenses as the government will bear their educational expenses. Instructions regarding planning

  • The exam consists of one paper consisting of four sections of Mathematics, Science and Social Science, General Awareness
  • This paper will be conducted for admission in best private residential school in the country under residential education for high school students in targeted areas
  • The entrance exam paper will be based on the NCERT syllabus of class 8 for admission in class 9, syllabus of class 10 for admission in class 11
  • Those students who have passed or appeared for taking admission in class 8th or 10th class 9th or 11th in academic session 2021-22 are eligible to apply under this scheme.
  • The paper will be conducted in Hindi and English mode

Some important instructions for the candidates

  • Candidates are advised to report at the examination center two hours before the examination
  • Students should also bring their SC certificate for verification
  • Candidates take their seats immediately after the exam hall opens
  • If the candidates do not report on time due to any reason, they are likely to miss some important instructions to be announced at the exam centre.
  • The agency will not be responsible for any delay
  • Candidates are requested to carry the admit card and show it on demand
  • Students will also have to carry a valid photo ID card to the exam center
  • One seat will be allotted to each candidate indicating Roll Number
  • If the candidate does not sit on the seat allotted to him/her, he/she may face cancellation of candidature.
  • It is the responsibility of the candidate to ensure that the question paper provided is for admission in the applicable class
  • If the candidate has given wrong information, his/her candidature will be canceled
  • If the candidate does not appear on the scheduled date of examination, no re-examination will be conducted for such candidate.
  • The candidate has to bring the following documents on the day of examination:-
    • The print copy of the admit card duly filled along with the self-declaration form downloaded from the NTA website
    • A passport size photo
    • Any one authorized photo ID
    • blue or black ballpoint pen

Some instructions regarding unfair means and violation of examination rules

  • If any candidate has intelligence in any kind of unfair practice during the examination then ufm against him. case will be registered under
  • The result of the candidates indulging in improper conduct will not be declared.
  • The result of those candidates who appeared from a center other than the center allotted to them or any other candidate or person allowed to write the examination on their behalf will be cancelled.
  • No argument will be entertained in this regard

Eligibility Criteria of Candidates

  • Under this scheme only those students can apply who belong to the scheduled caste.
  • Student studying in class 8th and 10th in the current academic year
  • The annual income of the parents should be Rs 2.5 lakh or less
  • Candidates who are applying for 9th class should be born between 1st April 2006 to 31st March 2010
  • Candidates who are applying for class 11th should be born between 1st April 2004 to 31st March 2008
  • There is no entrance fee for the exam
  • Applicant must be a permanent President of India

  • Candidates are required to read carefully all the instructions given in the information bulletin
  • Students can apply under this scheme through online mode only
  • Candidate has to select any four cities of his/her choice
  • Efforts will be made to allot the city of examination to the candidates in the order of their choice in their online application form.
  • The allotment of centers will be done by computer and there will be no human intervention
  • Options once exercised shall not be changed under any circumstances

Best Scheme Admit Card

  • A provisional admit card will be issued to the candidate through NTA website
  • Candidate must download this admit card
  • The candidate is not allowed to appear at the examination center other than the one allotted in his/her admit card
  • If the candidate is not able to download the admit card from the website, he/she should contact the helpline which is 011407590000 between 10 AM to 5 PM.
  • All the candidates have to read and follow the instructions printed on the admit card carefully
  • If there is any discrepancy in the candidate’s photo and signature shown on the admit card of the details or the confirmation page, the candidate can immediately contact the NTA helpline
  • No duplicate admit card will be issued at the exam center
  • Candidates are not allowed to make any changes in the admit card
  • Candidates must keep their admit card safe in good condition for future reference
  • Issuance of admit card does not mean acceptance of eligibility. Eligibility will be checked at later stages of the admission process
